Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) more popularly known as her real name Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be signed to J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. The label debuted her first EP, Pho, in October of 2016 when she began to get recognition. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio release was May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox uploaded her songs online in 2012 after she released her five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. The year 2014 saw her release more music via the Internet including Bound. On 21st of July 2015, Omen was featured on Elephant Eyes' track"Sweat It Out. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville team at the time and wanted her to perform on Rihanna reference. She was officially signed with Dreamville Records on 8 December. In the release album Revenge of the Dreamers II She was on the track Backseat alongside Cozz. The singer released Pho, her debut EP, on Oct 21, 2016. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as opening The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017 in which she was accompanied by EarthGang. She also appeared as a guest performer on two songs with EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on July 16, 2018. A music video was followed by a music video in September. In November, she released the singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. Then, in November 2013, she dropped No One, and Pedigree. They then teamed up as a guest on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track entitled Shea Butter Baby on November 16, and it was released as a single on the 26th of February 2019 for her debut album of the same title. A music video was released on 20 February 2019 in conjunction with the song. Within one week, it had over 3,000,000 views. In December 2018 she was performing as a support act on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour together with 6LACK.
